Lost

Since last September our house has been a bit messy and cluttered. ('What's new?' I hear BigBean shout. 'I can't see any difference.') Things out of place, piled up and hard to find. This is because of the lovely new loft conversion which is oh-so-nearly finished. Stuff had to be moved so new stairs could be fitted, rugs are rolled and numerous pictures taken off the walls and balanced precariously in piles in daft places because there wasn't anywhere else to put them at the time.

I am itching to get everything back to normal but it is a slow process. And in this process I have lost something Very Important. My camera-to-computer lead. It's vanished. Gone. Missing. AWOL. So I can't download (upload?) any photos for anything.

I have searched in the usual places- under the stairs, by the not quite so broken other computer, by the fruit bowl, in the in-basket and under the pew. I have searched in the not so usual places- in the fruit bowl, behind cushions, in my jewellery stash and in with the Beans puzzles and games. But no. It is not anywhere.

I have some new necklaces that I want on my website. I am desperately on the verge of getting a Folksy shop going. I want photos printed out for Grandpa's birthday. I want to do a ta-dah about the New Room. But I can't.

I know I can use the card thingy in the camera but this doesn't fill me with confidence. I know that as soon as I buy another lead, the old one will walk down the stairs with a smug look on its face and sneer at me. I know that I am an untidy person and this will not teach me a lesson.

  4. I'm not sure how much they cost, but the your horrid amount of frustration tells me maybe you should just buy another one and be done with it? Eventually one will break or something and you wil have a spare. Right? You can tell I am constantly trying to rationalise purchases!! Don't be held back by a cable!

I am trying to set up a site on Bigcartel at the moment, well out of my IT depths. Hope yours is up and shiny soon.xx

  5. I'm afraid the only way to find it will be to buy a new one - it's always the way!

  6. Is it in someone's wellie? That's where we find lost things.

Oh, and have you tried praying to St Anthony? -patron saint of lost things, he'll know where it is.

  8. It is infuriating when that happens isn't it, I am constantly losing mine (and I have no building work as an excuse!). Hope it turns up soon, are there any mates you know with a similar camera or lead?

  11. Hi never visited you before. I'm smiling as I'm typing because you're funny! I know just how you feel and it is so frustrating. Fortunately or unfortunately it will turn up but not when you want it, like right now. I think it's funny how you say you know you are messy and you will not learn any lessons!!! Anyway love your blog and will visit again. Have and great weekend and hope you come upon it soon. xoRobin❤

  12. Hi there, I saw your comment on Robin and on Helen's posts so I thought I would pop over and say hi! I lost a pair of glasses last year, which were of course my most expensive ones, and I have done the "cable thing" too..I am sure that if I buy another expensive pair they will turn up...we shall see. I hope you can upload your photos soon.I also smiled on reading your post as my pet name for my Hb is "Bean" LOL!!Great to meet some other Beans!
